Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MyTownBoard. By using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Beta Service Notice

MyTownBoard is currently operating as an early-stage public beta platform.

  • • The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE."
  • • Features, integrations, workflows, security improvements and platform functionality are actively being developed and may change, be modified or become temporarily unavailable without prior notice.
  • • By continuing to use MyTownBoard, you acknowledge that you are participating in an evolving platform that is still under active development and testing.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using MyTownBoard in any capacity, you confirm that you are at least 13 years of age (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and that you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
  • New accounts may require administrator approval before publishing.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Publish false, defamatory, hateful, harassing or misleading content.
  • Impersonate any person, business or public authority.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service.
  • Scrape, harvest or misuse data or user information.
  • Post illegal goods, services or fraudulent payment requests.

4. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of the content you publish. By posting, you grant MyTownBoard a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, translate, cache and distribute that content within the Service for the purpose of operating the platform. The MyTownBoard name, logo and platform code remain our property.

5. Community Publishing

Members may publish a limited number of announcements per day without administrator approval. Every post is subject to our Community Guidelines. Content that violates our rules may be removed, and repeated violations may result in suspension.

Community Integrity Rule. Every announcement, business listing, article, event and discussion belongs only to the community selected during publishing. What belongs to Mankessim stays in Mankessim; what belongs to Kasoa stays in Kasoa; what belongs to Cape Coast stays in Cape Coast.

6. Business Listings

  • Only genuine businesses may create storefronts and listings.
  • Business owners are solely responsible for the accuracy of product, price, availability, delivery and contact information.
  • Payments are processed manually via Mobile Money and bank transfer between buyer and seller.
  • MyTownBoard provides the technology platform and is not a party to transactions.

7. User Responsibilities

  • Publish only information you reasonably believe to be true.
  • Respect other members and community moderators.
  • Report abuse using the built-in reporting tools.
  • Keep backups of important content you upload.

8. Service Availability

As MyTownBoard is currently in public beta, uninterrupted availability cannot be guaranteed. Temporary downtime, maintenance, feature improvements, infrastructure upgrades and bug fixes may occur without prior notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MyTownBoard shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE."

10. Updates to Terms

We reserve the right to revise, update or replace these Terms at any time. Continued use of MyTownBoard after any updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
