1. Respectful Communication
Speak to fellow members the way you would greet a neighbour at the market — with warmth and respect. Disagreements are welcome; personal attacks are not.
2. Responsible Publishing
Post information you know to be accurate. Do not spread rumours, unverified reports or content designed to alarm. Publish in the correct category and community so neighbours can find and trust it.
3. Local Relevance
Every post belongs to the town selected during publishing. Only publish content in communities where it is genuinely relevant to residents of that town.
4. Community Standards
The following are not permitted anywhere on MyTownBoard:
- Scams, fake giveaways or fraudulent payment requests.
- Sexual, violent or graphic content.
- Illegal goods, services or activities.
- Impersonation of another person, business or authority.
- Hate speech targeting tribes, faiths, gender or minorities.
- Sharing personal data (phone, address, ID) without consent.
5. Business Ethics
- List only genuine products and services.
- Honour prices, availability and delivery commitments.
- Never solicit off-platform payments to defraud customers.
- Respond to customer messages and complaints in good faith.
6. Anti-Harassment Rules
Do not harass, threaten, dox or intimidate other members. Blocked members must not create alternate accounts to circumvent the block.
7. Spam Prevention
Do not post the same content repeatedly, in the wrong communities or with misleading clickbait. Members are limited to a reasonable number of posts per day; genuine businesses can subscribe for higher publishing limits.
8. Reporting Abuse
Every post, comment, business and profile has a Report action. Reports are handled by trained moderators and actioned against these Guidelines. You may also email omanbarecords@gmail.com for urgent concerns.
9. Account Suspension Policy
Depending on severity, we may remove content, issue a warning, temporarily suspend or permanently disable an account. Coordinated abuse and repeat offences lose access without warning. Serious matters may be referred to the appropriate authorities.
