Bank of Ghana Warning: 20 Unlicensed Digital Credit Service Providers

According to an official public notice (No. BG/GOV/SEC/2026/25) issued by the Bank of Ghana, the central bank has identified 20 mobile loan applications operating without the requisite licence or authorization. The central bank cautions that these entities operate in contravention of the Directive for Digital Credit Service Providers in Ghana (Notice No. BG/GOV/SEC/2025/30) and constitute significant violations of consumer data privacy, consumer protection, and established regulatory standards.
